About 17 Soroptimists and friends joined the Truckee River Day tree planting in Tahoe Donner on October 19th. The weather was sunny, but very windy. We planted 100's of trees and enjoyed the company and the task. The trees are being planted on an old fire scarred area. This restoration should get us back to pre-fire coverage which protects the hillside and restores the natural environment. Nancy Wallis, who is on the Truckee Watershed board, championed this great service idea. Let's try to do this every year!
