2024-25 Board Nominations

 

 

Please consider a position on the SITD 2024-2025 board. Our fiscal year is July 1st -June 30th, and every spring, we elect a new board for the following year. It is both a rewarding and a fun experience and a way to be part of a great group of energized women!

 

If you think you might not be good at being a part of our leadership team, you are wrong. Everyone is here to support each other, and in taking a leadership role, you are never alone. I know firsthand that experienced members are always willing to advise, assist, and help as needed.

 

We will soon be forming our Nominating Committee for the next board to have our new officers in place on July 1st. Our President, Cathy Leibow, will appoint one member from the existing board, and our club will elect a 2nd member from the club. I will be the 3rd member of the committee. Please let me know if you are interested in being on the Nominating Committee. The nominating committee will talk with our members to determine who is interested in serving on the board next year. And you can always nominate yourself! For our newer members: the board comprises the President, President-elect, Recording Secretary, Corresponding Secretary, Treasurer, Treasurer-elect, 2 Directors, and 2 Delegates. We want to develop leadership in all of our members and believe in the power of rotating leadership. If someone has held the same office for two years, she should move on to another position.

 

For the upcoming election, I’d like to highlight the positions we will fill. President-Elect: Schedules monthly program meetings and is ready to step into the shoes of the President. Treasurer-elect: is included by the Treasurer in all activities of this office. Recording Secretary: keeps minutes of all proceedings (board and business meetings) and submits them for approval. Corresponding secretary: sends out notices and correspondence. Prepares a report/ summary of the correspondence received by the club. Directors: provide continuity and consistency between the board and the club. Delegates: attend all district meetings and regional conferences. Next month, we will publish a more in-depth description of each officer outlined in our Bylaws. At our June business meeting, we will elect our new board to be inducted later that month.
